It looks like you are using an ad blocker

How to remove stupid “It looks like you’’re using an ad blocker” message from websites, and why they’re a stupid idea in the first place.

Why yes I am. And let me also introduce you to my friend “developer mode”.

First we see the slightly offensive box on our screen and notice it’s just some kind of overlay.

And with some school kid hacker skills we find the bit of HTML responsible for the overlay

And find the parent DIV

And then delete it…

Then for bonus points find the container for the text box…

And make that go away.

Pro tip: If you run a website and you think blocking people who are using ad blockers is a good idea, you are wrong, you are an idiot. Either we just disable your ad blocker blockers, or we go somewhere else. You are but one website amongst several billion that Google suggested, it’s so very easy to go somewhere else.
